Hotel Mulino di Firenze

1/24
A fifteenth-century mill on the bank of the Arno, the Hotel Mulino di Firenze, WorldHotels Crafted, Florence, Italy, has been turned into a distinctive riverside hotel a few kilometres from the historic centre of Florence. The old mill makes a memorable setting, with the river running past and the city within easy reach, an ideal starting point for both Florence and the Tuscan countryside. Classic, superior and junior suite rooms each carry their own character, fitted with satellite and cable TV, free internet, air conditioning, a minibar and a safe. A restaurant and bar look out over the water, and gardens run down to the riverbank, while quiet, leafy surroundings keep the bustle of the city at a comfortable distance. Good road and tram links carry guests into the centre in a short time. Florence cradles the Renaissance in a compact, walkable core, the dome of Florence Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore), designed by Brunelleschi, rising over the rooftops, the Uffizi Galleries and the statues of Piazza della Signoria a short way on, and the jewellers' shops of the Ponte Vecchio crossing the Arno toward Pitti Palace and the terraced Boboli Gardens. Beyond the walls, the vineyards and cypress hills of Chianti and the towers of medieval towns spread across the Tuscan countryside, with Siena, Pisa and the wine roads all within an easy drive. Olive groves and stone farmhouses fill the river valley around. CIR code: 048017-ALB-0053, CIN code: IT048017A168XSCA5L
